29 June 2021 : Princess Street

Princess Street in Halifax was laid out at the same time as the construction of the magnificent town hall which was opened by the Prince of Wales - the future King Edward VII - in 1863. Princess Street was named in honour of his wife, Princess Alexandra of Denmark. The Mayor of Halifax, John Crossley, was responsible for the redevelopment of this part of the town.
