1663 : Thirty Year Old Date Stamp

It is strange how we visualise the past in monochrome. The styles and the shops along Haymarket, Sheffield are long gone, but it is the bleached blacks and wanton whites that provide the thirty year old date stamp.

What a fantastic shot, Alan! It's shots like this that make me regret not discovering photography as my art until 15 or so years ago; I missed out on chronicling some pretty significant changes back in Newport way back when, and saving some sights for posterity that now no longer exist. You've done such an excellent job of showing us what the landscape used to look like, and what it looks like now.
