1660 : A Misplaced Attachment

Whitby Harbour, May 2002

There is something shockingly simple about a boat: a thin skin, a brace or two, a misplaced attachment. And colours that put the black mud of Whitby harbour to shame.

I have only experienced a tide coming and going when we visited our son in Maine. Our puddle of a lake seems to go up and down from rainfall and men controlling the water flow. The boats are an interesting lot.
