1452 : Something Grainy

There is something grainy about this photograph of Halifax I took about forty-five years ago - which is rather appropriate as there was something grainy about Halifax forty-five years ago. The late sixties were a time of transformation: the cast iron North Bridge was about to give way to the concrete overpass and the mill chimneys were about to cease smoking. The land was being cleared for what was to become Burdock Way and some of these sepia mills had vanished by the time the negatives were printed.
