1226 : Hyperactive Rowing Boats

BRIDLINGTON HARBOUR : ALAN BURNETT  Circa 1982

There is something about Bridlington Harbour that has always appealed to me. It has something to do with the fact that the holiday crowds and their pleasure steamers rub friendly shoulders with the working fishing boats. And then there are the rowing boats, fluttering between their grown-up cousins like hyperactive children. Lovely place.

Oh lots of memories for me at Bridlington Harbor! I can't possibly count the times I've walked the pier, sailed on the Yorkshire Belle, Bridlington Queen or Boys Own. Never went on the Yorkshire Man though. He wasn't around too long after I enjoyed my misspent youth around the harbor. The last time I was there, many years ago now, we took our boys on the row boat ferry from the south pier to the north pier and then had ice cream at Notriani's. Hope your wife is doing better, Alan.
