1194 : Stained Steel And Kiln-Fired Bricks

2014.0724.01 : South Riding. Scanned 6x6 B&W Negative. Circa 1980
Most of my old photographs were taken in the West Riding of Yorkshire. But there is the West Riding of my youth - hills, moors and mills - and the West Riding of my 30s and 40s (which should have been the South Riding if such a thing were possible). There you would find a scene set flatter; stained steel and kiln-fired bricks.

I am sure, t.hat at a place that looks so dismal there was still contentment to be found.
