1059 : The Hill Is Still There

Picture Post returns with another selection of scans of negatives I took 40 or so years ago. This picture was taken from the junction of Clare Road and Hunger Hill in Halifax. The houses on the right of the road have gone, but those on the left remain. And the hill, of course, is still there.

Don't you have to blank out the car number plates now?

After reading that, I had to go enlarge and see if I could read the numbers. I couldn't make them out, but could be my failing eyes.

What about the building in the centre? It looks like an institution of some kind, is that still there?
And is that a cemetery to the right of that building?

It looks like a rather large car by English standards.
