Varicose Veins Against A Winter Smoke Screen

Foggy Day in Fixby : 28 December 2010
Temperatures have risen and the snow and ice have been replaced by a winter fog that provides a smoke screen against which the winter trees stand out like an old man's varicose veins.

Or a smoker's lung.

Bare trees and fog make for wonderful pictures and the green grass adds just the right touch. Beautiful!

That is a great title, Alan. I like the new header too - the red is striking.

I'm not sure which I hate most... ice and snow or mawky days where I can't see anything. Roll on Spring.

Not all older men have varicose veins. Just thought I should point this out.

Fantastic picture, though.

We also have had fog all day. I drove out of it in southern Iowa but drove back into this afternoon. It got up to forty degrees F. this afternoon down there. Not so warm up here.
