Yorkshire Stone

I took this photograph in Woodlesford, West Yorkshire for my West Yorkshire In Ten Squares project, but I didn't have room for it in the post. I love the richness of the weathered stone, so I will include it here.

I just happened to be on, so I saw your post of a minute ago. Great textures in the shot, lovely old weathered stone; I guess it's sandstone?

The sandstone makes for an interesting photo Alan.

It has so many diverse surfaces. The outer surface looks like it has a bad plaster job. I like the streaks in the lower stone. I must also say that is huge sandstone. We have that in s State park here that one never sees as the man made lake is always so full of water that it backs up into it yearly.
