Very good picture, especially suitable for today's heatwave here in the Midlands.

Tune in tomorrow for a glimpse and description of New Hall Watermill, where the odd signpost picture came from.

Sorry Alan, I should have said tune in today... I can't keep up with this advance posting lark... grins.

There is an American song, so far as I know the Yanks drug it to Europe during the War. It was a popular soldier's song back then.

Roll me over
in the clover
lay me down
and do it again

You can Google it. It might not be appropriate for a family blog. LOL

I kid you not, that is my wife's memory. This was a "summer" song when I was a kid.

Perfect shot of summer grass.

Speaking of depth of field, Alan, yes, I sometimes have to rock back and forth to get what I want in focus. When I get that close people seeing me, in the olden days when I could still get my breath, I am sure they thought I was a drunk and teetering about to fall.

OOooh! I gasped when I saw this photo--it fills my eyes, which is the greatest compliment I can give.
