100212 : Pelicans

I always thought a Pelican was a particularly boring book until I went to Acapulco (If the Acapulco Tourist Authority would like to use this slogan they can as long as they pay me large amounts of money).

The only time I've seen pelicans was in Mexico - they're fascinating! Now if I can just see some spoonbills in person...

That is one fantastic photo, Alan! I'm intrigued by the hand-written advertising? on the boat as well.

Aren't they wonderfully strange birds? I saw some flying over the Sea of Galilee - hugely exciting.

I don't think I will pay, I will just give you credit in passing. We actually have white pelicans that migrate through here, central Iowa. We usually can see them a few weeks in spring head north to Minnesota, and sometimes in the fall as they head back south. The sneak through and don't stay long in the fall.
