091029 Like A Fat Buddha Taking A Rest

I took Isobel to work this morning and as we drove up to Ainley Top there was a bank of cloud slumped into the valley bottom like a fat Buddha taking a rest. By the time Amy and I got back to the same place on our way home the moment had gone. The cloud had spread and the magic of the moment had vanished.

I hate when that happens. Sometimes I see a cloud in the perfect shape of something and by the time I grab my camera it changed!
That's quite a view you have, very nice.

Shucks. That is the way it happens. I saw a black and white sparrow size bird, this morning, and grabbed my camera and started taking pictures without ever looking at any of the settings. In a couple of minutes the bird was gone and I spent two or three hours trying to figure out what it is without any luck.

The pictures I took are not great but it does give me an idea what the bird looks like. The ISO was set wrong and there is color noise but that is another of those fleeting moments.

It's still a good view, Alan. I wouldn't mind borrowing it for a while.

You paint great word pictures as well as taking great photographs. Lovely light on this one.

Boy,, don't you hate that when it happens. You are looking like fall over there. It is a great scene. Needs a few more clouds.
