091022 Nice Leaves Not Scanned

I know I promised that we had seen the last of the scanned leaves ... Well, these are not scanned (and if they are I have probably ruined the scanner). The grass and leaves I spotted on our walk this morning and they just seemed .... nice. I know "nice" is a bit of am overused word but they were ... nice.

The grass comes over the walkway or sidewalk. Not sure which word is appropriate for you but only our decorative clumps of grass gets this long to fall over like this. Most lawns here have ordinance laws so they must be cut off shorter than 6 inches.

My grandpa lived in West Virginia in the mountains and his grass grew so tall until it went to seed and then fell over.

Lovely muted colours... and I think we should campaign for a rehabilitation of the word 'nice' because some things just are - nice. Not amazing or stunning or even lovely but just quietly nice.

I like this picture's simple beauty.

The textures are so unique. It is a good thing. We had rain last night and all we have now are leaves on the ground everywhere.

My school teacher said we should never use the word nice, I never could work out why. I like the colours in the grass, they do so complement the leaves.

They are so brown..did you get a frost?
Ours lost their brilliant oranges and reds now, too...due to frost and a few snow days. I miss them!
