091019 Halifax Borough Market

Continuing with my Friday shopping trip in Halifax. After the eighteenth century wool market I crossed over the road and entered the nineteenth century general market. This is a glorious building : all glass and wrought iron.

What a fun market to visit. Fruiterer is not a word you hear everyday, especially in the US.

Love this photo and the story of Pierce Hall. Afraid that I will never catch up after my time away. But, I will whittle at It a little each day.

I have some great pictures of the old markets in New Mexico and will share them as time permits. So stay tuned.

Thanks for the nice comment my way. Yes, we had a grand time. Wish it could have been longer but I so missed my own home and bed.

Nice picture, Alan. Everything is so colourful in these old market places. Wherever we go, if there's a market hall we go and see it. The old buildings are always so wonderful. The last one we saw was in Dublin.

Well, I could spend some time in that one. It looks very interesting.

Nice post. Interesting look to the market. I also liked the Japanese Boys and Girls post.
