091008 Nag's Head

Our walk this morning took us past the Nag's Head at Ainley Top. The sun was shining and the outside tables were ready to welcome just such passing dog-walkers as myself. The pub I know well : they serve a decent pint and have a ready supply of guest ales. But this is the weekend of the Marsden Jazz Festival and there were a pile of jobs awaiting me. Next time, next time.

Looks like a welcoming pub; we've got a glorious day down here in Berkshire.

I've day dreamed about walking in the English country side and discovering a wonderful pub like that.

It amazes me how blogspot posts these blogs. I was on and caught up on all my blogs about three hours ago, and now your blog comes up saying it is 14 hours old. I guess they are out there filtering them in to us all. Have a great time at the festival. It sounds like a great experience. I ran into a waitress last night at Applebees and her name plate said Ruth Anne. I was dieing to tell her my story, but she didn't seem that friendly.

Pretty smart pub, Alan. Very relaxing feel about it ... from the outside :-)

I love the vines on this old building. A visit inside would definitely beckon me!
