090820 Here's Some For You Abe

Many of my American friends have been complaining about the lack of rain recently. The other day I promised Abe Lincoln that I would try and send him some clouds over. A whole group of suitably dark and rain-filled clouds came by this morning so I have arranged for the jet-stream to reverse and blow them your way.

Abe can have them...we had a lot of rain lately (upper Michigan).
Nice pastoral scene in that photo!

Are you sure it was going to rain? The cows are still standing :)

Oh thank you Alan, but no thanks. We are on flood watch here for the fifth time in three years.

I will gladly send some rain to Mr. Lincoln if I could.

But, I agree nice pastoral scene.

Would you believe, the word verification word on my screen contains the word "rain." There is no escaping it.

Sunny's remark leads me to ask about the cows ... do they stand or lie down in the rain? I never found out for sure.

It may look very green and pastoral but if you look carefully at the extreme left of the photograph you can just make out the M62 motorway - one of the busiest stretches of road in the UK. As for the cows - they thought the ground was a bit muddy and therefore didn't want to lie down. We have very polite and cultured cows around these parts

Hey I was just outside and those clouds are over Iowa right now and are heading his way. We have unusual weather with the potential hurricanes hanging around. We were cold this morning, 65 degrees, shivering at the gas pump. Your picture is great. I haven't done that much work with landscapes with the digital, but plan to get some in some practice.

LOL

Well, we got one devil of a storm here the other night. Everything was included -- even tornados and lightening, lots of thunder, some hail and big drops of rain plus lots of just plain rain. Knocked our phones out, the television went off, the computers died and we were blessed, I guess, because the electric itself stayed on.

Thanks, Alan, for the rain. We sure needed it.
