090813 Big Man With A Small Horn

Over on my News From Nowhere Blog I am participating in this week's Theme Thursday which is based on the theme of Festivals. This picture was taken at the 2008 Marsden Jazz Festival and it shows my mate Rod Mason playing the soprano sax.

I had been watching the pub blog, but missed this one.
I love the sax, I have some great Parker, Coltrane and Stanley Turrentine CDs. Your mate seems to be enjoying it.

Hi John,
I am afraid the pub blog tends to be rather infrequent. My other two blogs (this one and News From Nowhere) are updated much more regularly however.. You are right about Rod : his enthusiasm matches his girth!

What a great photo. He looks like a guy that would be great to know and be friends with and he even has a small sax.

Loved his closed eyes and Hawaiian shirt!

I have never seen such a small saxaphone. And such a large man playing it adds to the interesting picture. Nice photograph. The contrasts are just amazing.
