090806 Mill Fold

I took this photograph earlier today and it shows a wonderful cottage in Ripponden just north of Halifax. There is something about the diversity of shape which is so attractive. And the drying bed sheet seems to add to the jumble and save it from being cute and biscuit-tinny.

Nothing in my town is over 125 years old. The history and the age of that building shows such character and depicts such style. I can go east to see houses leaning and a lot older than my 103 year old house, but they still don't look like that. Good shot. I would put exclamations on these but my fingers are too stiff to make it work. Have a good weekend.

LD : I always like it when the walls of a house lean in different directions - it makes it easier to line up the camera.

And...look at the stairs going up to the door...what were they expecting? A flood or blizzard dumping 30 inches of snow?
I love old buildings....
great subject matter for a photo.
