090730 Barbecue Summer

Some months ago, someone at the Met Office suggested that 2009 would be a barbecue summer. Now they are regretting their forecast. This was taken this morning on my balcony : a balcony I have been hardly able to use this year.

I think the weather is changed around the World, Alan. At least we have had the coldest July ever recorded here in Ohio where we live. It has been good in other ways though, that we get more than adquate rain followed by sunshine days but not hot days. I think Mother Nature is in one of those funky cycles that ended in the Little Ice Age. I hope the polar bears are able to survive this year and live fruitful lives.

Thanks for the visit.

lovely photo - I've been taking some like this recently.

(plenty of opportunity, after all...)

I had to pop back to thank you for the visit and comment on my Pick a Peck of Pixels blog. You might be interested in our extreme weather here.

It is a cool, 63 degrees F here at 6:00 AM in Ohio on this August 1st, 2009. Not bad. I slept under a blanket last night. We set the coldest July ever recorded last month and we had adequate rainfall. Coupled with the cool weather everything has grown and is lush. It has never been this way here in July. I hope you will have nice weather this August.

It's no better around Reading, and I'm a barbecue fanatic, so it's really cramped my style.
